On December 29, 2022, SECURE Act 2.0 was signed into law as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. SECURE 2.0 has a broad range of new provisions (92 in total), which include significant changes designed to help close existing gaps across the retirement system. We expand on these and several others in the rest of this report.
