Client Description

A US non-profit healthcare system that had experienced significant growth in its long-term investment pool.


Client Objective

The client was seeking an innovative investment strategy that could offer differentiated sources of return and exposure to a market sector with historically favorable margin and cash flow characteristics to complement its existing multi-asset portfolio.

Client Description

A US healthcare organization with a comprehensive network of hospitals and primary and specialty physician care services.


Client Objective

The client’s bearish expectations for returns in core fixed income markets, given the low interest rate environment, drove them to consider introducing a private markets approach. The approach focused on current income while incorporating an underserved part of the corporate market that helped diversify the existing fixed income allocation across the client's operating and pension assets.

GSAM Solution

We provided access to a middle market lending strategy as a means to generate current income and capital appreciation. The solution allowed the client to participate in a less accessible area of the market, while leveraging the experience and origination capabilities of Goldman Sachs.
